Rashid supports Nature Warriors Wrestling Club at GL Sports. He has been instrumental in setting up several wrestling clubs and also works for British Wrestling as their clubs and communities officer.

Lewis McGrath

Wrestling Coach

Lewis has been wrestling from a young age and after excelling on the domestic circuit, he was selected to represent Team GBR. This provided him with the opportunity to travel to International tournaments. Since moving into coaching, he has been supporting MMA Clubs with their Wrestling game and is also supporting Nature Warriors Wrestling Club.

Lewis coaches at the club on Tuesday and Thursday Nights.

Coach Ed Bavelock

Wrestling Coach

Coach Ed Bavelock needs little introduction in Combat Sports. His martial arts journey began in the 1970s on the wrestling mats in the USA, where he quickly made a name for himself by winning a Cape & Islands title and captaining the 1981 OCL championship team. He is recognised as one of the pioneers of Kickboxing, MMA and Muay Thai when he moved to Australia from his native USA. With over 35 years of experience in various combat sports, both as an athlete and a mentor, we are delighted Ed is supporting us at Nature Warriors Wrestling Club.

Kelsey Barnes

Wrestling Coach

Kelsey Barnes was first drawn to wrestling by seeing her brothers excel in the sport, but the 62kg star was on her own path to stardom. Following victory at the Helsinki Open in 2018, she has held her own at the highest level, finishing tenth at the 2022 Senior U23 European Championships.That came after she finished eighth at the same event in 2021.

Kelsey supports the girls wrestling classes on Monday Nights.

Mario Sukata

BJJ Coach

Francisco Mario Da Silva Peixoto Neto, or otherwise known as Mario ‘Sukata’ Neto, is the current IBJJF British Champion, 2019 NAGA Champion, and the former IBJJF European Champion and former WAFC World Champion.

Mario is a fighter who has travelled around the world and back, fought the likes of UFC Hall of Fame inductee, Dan Severn, and trained high level athletes such as former UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping. He now coaches his own Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu team in Liverpool.

He also coaches at the GLSports Centre teaching BJJ for Team Solidarity on Wednesday Evenings and Sunday Mornings.
